5th European Congress on Family Science 2017, Vienna
Family | Education | Migration
Following the previous European Congresses on Family Science “Diversity of the European Family” (2008) and “Future of the European Family” (2013), the congress of 2017 is addressing two topics which are highly relevant for both the daily life of families and societal development: education and migration.
Modernization processes do not only challenge family life itself, but also policy makers, practitioners, and science. The Congress did focus on topics like reproductive medicine, fragmentation of parenthood and family structure, multi-locality and education of parents and families. Migration, was as one of the main topics, with two perspectives: from a methodological point of view and from challenges like transnational families and parental and family education in the light of a growing linguistic and cultural diversity in European Societies.
